ABOUT ALL INDIA OVERLAND
Our background in adventure travel began as expedition whitewater kayakers - we have kayaked all over the world and specialised in exploring lesser known destinations such as Afghanistan, Pakistan and the Ethiopian Highlands. In recent years, we've turned our attention to India where we have made pioneering whitewater descents all over the country.
We keep coming back to India because we love the entire experience: the rivers, the food, the people, the scenery, the wildlife. In Summer 2016 we decided set up a company to share the best things we've found with likeminded people - All India Overland was born. Our years of experience in India mean we have the contacts and knowledge to arrange all kinds of trips. We can guarantee an adventure that isn't available anywhere else, often because we were the first to do it!
Because we know that planning a trip to India can be a daunting prospect, it's our aim to make the entire experience as stress-free and fun as possible.
You can take the lad out of Doncaster but you can't take Doncaster out of the lad. James has a degree in business and languages, has worked as a high-school German teacher, a ski guide in Austria and once played lead guitar in an unsuccessful glam-rock band. He has also spent the better part of the last 10 years kayaking remote and difficult whitewater rivers all over the world. James once crossed Iceland by ski and pack-raft, worked in a German winery for a year and has probably kayaked every Indian whitewater river you have heard of.
Callum grew up on the banks of the river Tay in Scotland and spent his free time paddling. As a result, he was already an accomplushed whitewater kayaker when he entered Edinburgh University to study Geology. Aged 18, he travelled alone to paddle some of the world's most challenging whitewater in the Altai Mountains of Russia. From that point on, he has been at the forefront of the expedition kayaking scene. Callum is also an accomplished silversmith, skilled whittler and rock botherer.
